Actress, Singer and Recording Artist Julia Wade has been hailed by critics as “the female equivalent of Josh Groban.”
Julia Wade is recognized nationally and internationally for her performances in musical theater, opera and concerts. She also has recorded no less than 15 solo albums.
Julia performed the dual lead roles of Dot/Marie in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE. She also starred in the title role of Thyme Quinn in a new musical theatrical work, ROSEMARY AND THYME- A Podcast Musical in 16 Episodes.
Additionally, Julia can be heard in the theatrical podcast mini-series, HAVIN’ A TALK WITH GOD — 20 short 5-minute conversations in this run-up prequel to Rosemary And Thyme.
Off-Broadway, Julia starred in IS ANYBODY LISTENING? at the Sheen Center’s Loreto Theater — a musical production that explores the problems and solutions of many of the world’s current crises through music and social justice.
Internationally, Julia was featured at the Teatro Massimo(Palermo, Italy ) and the Rome Opera House in Kurt Weill's LADY IN THE DARK. The co-production was aired nationally on RAI television throughout Italy in both English and Italian.
Julia is the recipient of the award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical — Broadway World for Julia’s performance as “Red” in the West Coast Premiere of THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE, book and lyrics by Iris Rainer Dart, Music by Mike Stoller and Artie Butler.
Highlights of Julia’s other stage credits include Guinevere (CAMELOT), The White Witch (NARNIA THE MUSICAL ), Eve and The Emcee in HOTEL EDEN, as well as numerous opera roles. In New York, Julia has been featured off-Broadway in workshops and readings including KING OF HEARTS.
As a recording artist, Julia’s work ranges from classical crossover to musical theater, inspirational and pop music. She has 15 solo albums to her credit, which have been produced and orchestrated by Broadway composer and record producer Peter Link. Other recordings include children’s albums and cast/concept albums. Julia has been featured on compilation recordings with various artists including William Burden, Jenny Burton, Chieli Minucci, Cynthia Clawson, Jan Horvath, Steve Blanchard, Judy McLane and Georgia Engel.
As a concert artist, Julia has toured her concerts all over the United States, taking her audiences on an inspirational journey which has been described as “evocative” and “beautifully entertaining all the while your soul is being nourished!"
Julia’s work in Inspirational music also includes her successful 7-year run as the Soloist of the world headquarters of a major international church in Boston, MA where she performed and was live broadcast weekly, singing in both English and Spanish. She is credited with expanding the music worldwide by bringing new music and innovative ideas to the broadcast services.
